After more than a decade, yoga classes at DiamondHead Beach Resort have come to an end. Due to hotel renovations, the weekly classes ended August 12th, after more than 15 years.
“We had a great run but now it is time to move on,” said local yoga teacher Susan Carter.
Classes are continuing at Seven Seas cottage at Newton Park; the Tuesday evening class has moved to a new time, 5:30-6:30pm and a second class has been added on Wednesdays from 8:30-9:30am.
“When I got the news that DiamondHead was no longer offering yoga, I called town officials and they immediately added another class at Newton Park. I am so grateful,” said Carter who has been teaching yoga for over 17 years. “The beach students are very important to me; they have supported me through the process of becoming a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher and a Certified Yoga Therapist.”
Carter is also planning an Introduction to Yoga series at the Chapel By the Sea, which will begin in the fall. “I am looking forward to meeting a whole new group of students and sharing the great gift of yoga with more of my neighbors.” For more about Susan and her classes, visit her wechooseyoga.com
