Estero Blvd. drivers will notice a clean new look at the Shamrock Pub.The 1947-era building has received continual upgrades since Mike Hotz took over Shamrock operations in 2008. The bar interior, flooring, front patio, parking lot hard-surfacing, fencing and upstairs apartment have all undergone significant upgrades. Now the exterior siding has been replaced, along with a new exterior soft green paint job with complimenting beige trim. Building majority owner Fabolia Aixale and Hotz have together created the ultimate island bar destination. Hotz commented, “Its the same faces inside, but a new look outside. It was time for facelift.” Island residents and visitors should look for several Shamrock events this summer, “just for fun,” says Hotz. Offering jukebox, bowling and darts, the Shamrock Pub specializes in really cold beer, and also has wine and jello shots. Indoor and outdoor seating. Oceanos Island Grill on Estero Blvd, Fort Myers Beach opened this spring and celebrated their Ribbon Cutting & Grand Opening on Thursday, June 22nd with members of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce. An enthusiastic group of Chamber staff and members came out to support the new business.

Knotty Bean at the Library
Valorie Steinbeck, owner of the Knotty Bean Coffee Bar in Sea Grape Plaza is now managing the Beach Library’s 3rd floor snack bar as the Knotty Bean Café. Offering smoothies, juice, snacks, pastries and sandwiches, the café also offers Acai Bowls and beverages. The Knotty Bean Cafe at the library is open Monday-Friday from 9am-noon during the summer months. Look for expanded hours this fall. Whether you’re looking for a bagel with cream cheese or a chicken salad sandwich while running errands, the Knotty Bean at the library can accommodate you. The 3rd floor commons area also holds an art display that visitors can view while enjoying their snack. Wi-Fi is available and the view of the Gulf from the café is stunning! The 3rd floor also houses Beachcombers Books, a used bookstore run by the Friends of the Beach Library. Stop by the Library and head to the 3rd floor for great snacks and more!
