Hey kids! You can become a Junior Ranger at Lovers Key State Park this summer! Kids aged 6 and up are invited to join a park ranger this summer for a series of great nature programs designed specifically for kids.

Junior Ranger Adventure: Animal Tracks! –Thursday, June 16th at 10:00 AM- Join a park ranger to discover the exciting world of animal tracks. Learn about what animals live in the park and make which tracks. Then go on a short adventure hike to look for animal tracks from the park’s wildlife. Participants will be able make their own animal tracks to take home using molds and plaster.

Junior Ranger Adventure: Wading Tour!Thursday, July 21st at 10:00 AM- Join a park ranger to explore the marine animals that make the estuary unique as you explore the sea grass flats. Be prepared to get wet as you wade into the estuary with dip nets to collect exciting critters.

Junior Ranger Adventure: Sea Turtles! –Thursday, August 18th at 10:00 AM- Join a park ranger to explore the fascinating life of the sea turtles that visit Lovers Key each summer. Learn about their nesting behavior and find out what you can do to help protect them. Discover the hardships sea turtles face during some fun activities on the beach!

Junior Ranger Adventure: The Lorax!– Thursday, September 8th at 4:00 PM- Join a park ranger to celebrate Literacy Day with a reading of this classic Dr. Seuss book which continues to offer a timely message regarding biodiversity.
