It is time once again to thank the wonderful community of Ft. Myers Beach for another successful Popeyepalooza fundraiser! Popeyepalooza VII raised a final total of $5,300 for youth athletics on the beach! The Ft. Myers Beach Soccer Club and the Little League will each receive a check for $2,650.
Many thank-you’s must be given, especially to our sponsors. Our wonderful hosts the Beach Pub and their staff are amazing. Big thank you to our non-profit sponsor, the Florida Helps Foundation, who have backed us for 3 years.
Our food table was sponsored this year by Primerica Corp. and the Ft. Myers Beach Kiwanis. Thank you both very much! Incredible thanks to Krusty Pete’s for our t-shirts and hats, and also to the Print Shop Ink for all our logistical and promotional printing needs! Warm thank-you’s are necessary to Bruiser Jungwirth of Surf And Us Resort and to Paradise Taxi for transportation before and during the event!
Scores of Beach businesses and citizens contributed generously to our auctions and raffles. Too many to mention here, let me just sincerely thank all in the Ft. Myers Beach business community for your support.
Special thanks to all the fantastic musicians who gave their time and talent to our cause. LUCKY DAIZY, LIFE IS GOOD, CROSS EYED CHICKS, AND JOHN ALLENDER BLUES BAND, you rocked our day! Especially Steve Lutke, who braved the heat to run sound all day!
There’s one more thank you that I would be remiss to omit.
The people of Ft. Myers Beach showed up in record numbers on a hot day to benefit the youth of our community, and there is no greater cause. From the bottom of my heart, thank you!
Much exciting news is on the horizon, including the imminent formation of our own new non-profit organization; The KIDS2SPORTS FOUNDATION! Other big announcements are on the way for next year also! Thank you all, very much!
