On Sunday, May 1st, the 21st Annual Taste of the Beach brought thousands to Old San Carlos Blvd where they feasted on some of the Islands most tasty and creative food offerings while being entertained by music provided by Jo List and Friends. The server obstacle course drew the best servers on the Island in a hotly contested timed event. Awards were given to several area restaurants, plus a People’s Choice Award, selected by attendees.
Server Obstacle Course Winners:
1st Place – Pinchers, 2nd Place – La Ola, 3rd Place – Hooters
Wanda Linatsas, Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce 2016 Taste of the Beach Committee Chair, and Chamber President Bud Nocera presented
Yucatan Beach Stand the Best Decorated Booth Award.
Best Appetizer Award winner – La Ola for their BBQ bacon-wrapped shrimp appetizer.
Bootleggers Waterfront Barbecue was a double winner, taking home honors for Best Meat for their Baby Back Ribs and Best Chicken for their wings.
Parrot Key Caribbean Grill’s Crab Avocado Mango Stack won Best Seafood Dish.
Jack’s Farm to Fork Restaurant at the Pink Shell Resort was also a double winner, earning top honors for Best Dessert for their Flourless Chocolate Cake with Homemade Ice Cream and Fresh Strawberries and the People’s Choice. Voting for People’s Choice was tallied by the Lee County Elections Office on site.
