    SUNSET CONCERTS

    Each Friday and Saturday, free Sunset Celebration concerts from 5-10pm fill Times Square offering an entertaining musical backdrop to a spectacular sunset. Show is pet and kid friendly. Stop by and enjoy the beach, restaurants, street performers, cold beverages and a beautiful sunset!

    VALENTINE’S DINNER DANCE

    Join the Beach United Methodist Church on FR Feb 14 at 6pm for a Valentine’s Dinner Dance. The public is invited and a buffet will be available. Pastor Ivan will be the music DJ for this fun evening of food and dancing. $12/person. Call 239-463-9656 to reserve tickets or for more information.

    VALENTINE’S DAY SOCK HOP

    The Sock Hop is back. Head to Bay Oaks on FR Feb 14 to enjoy an evening of Great Music, Dancing, Food, Drinks and Nostalgia from 6-9pm, presented by BOSS. Beer & wine available for purchase.     VALENTINES DINNER DANCE

    The Knights of Columbus of Ascension Parish will host their annual Valentine’s Dinner Dance on SA Feb 15 in the Parish Hall, 6025 Estero Blvd. Doors open at 5:30pm.  Enjoy a catered dinner and dancing to the music of Sanchez Entertainment. Proceeds benefit the Ascension Knights of Columbus local charities. Tickets $30 per person and are available at the door.

    KEYS COMEDY

    BOOK SALE

    The Friends of the Fort Myers Beach Library will host a Book Sale on SA, Feb 15 & SU Feb 16 from 9am – 2pm in the library’s parking garage at 2755 Estero Blvd. You’ll find gently used books, CD’s and DVD’s, puzzles and new items from the bookstore for sale.  Artwork will be available via Silent Auction, plus the Estero Island Garden Club will be on hand with plants and baked goods. Hot coffee will be available from the Library Café. The March Book Sale will be held Mar 21 & 22. The library will be open normal hours: Saturday 9am -1pm. Closed Sunday.

    BLESSING OF THE FLEET

    The Blessing of the Shrimp Boat Fleets will take place SU, Feb 16 at 1pm on San Carlos Island. The event includes multiple food vendors selling shrimp and is sponsored by Ostego Bay Foundation, Fleet and Boat Owners and St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church. Festivities begin at noon with the Fleet Blessing at 1pm. 1100 Shrimp Boat Lane, Fort Myers Beach.

    CARIBBEAN CAR SHOW

    Parrot Key Caribbean Grill hosts two car shows each month, on the 1st and 3rd MO. Next show Feb 17 from 4-7pm. Stop by to see some cool hot rods, classic cars and custom trucks. Free registration for car owners and free admission for spectators. 239-463-3257.

    CANDIDATE FORUM

    The Beach Ministerial Association will host a Candidate Forum for FMB Town Council candidates on TU, Feb 18 at 6pm at Beach United Methodist Church, 155 Bay Road. The focus will be, “Why You?” Candidates will have an opportunity to share what qualities they would bring to Town Council and each will be asked the same questions to help our community understand how their background will translate into a proactive member of Town Council. A Meet & Greet will follow the forum. All are welcome to attend.

    FRIENDS CONCERT

    The Fort Myers Beach Friends of the Arts presents a concert by The Collaboration Band on TH, Feb 20 at 7pm at Fish Tale Marina.     TOMMY O SHOW

    Chapel by the Sea invites Islanders and visitors to a Dinner Show featuring Tommy O, the international recording and performance artist on FR Feb 21.     BUNCHE BEACH BIRDS

    On SA Feb 22 beginning at 8:00am, enjoy beautiful Bunche Beach, an excellent birding site with a Bird Patrol Guide. Bunche is an excellent spot for both migrant and resident waders and shorebirds working the mudflats at low tide. Also warblers, waterfowl and raptors.     SPECIAL OLYMPICS WALK

    Join the Ascension Knights of Columbus for their 2nd Annual Special Olympics Walkathon on SA Feb 22 at 9am in the parking lot of Ascension Church, 6025 Estero Blvd, FMB. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Florida – Lee County. Registration fee $25. Walk as many or as few laps as you choose.     K of C LIBERTY BALL

    The Knights of Columbus Assembly #2542 invites everyone to join them for their 20th Annual Liberty Ball on SA, Feb 22 at St. Columbkille Parish (12171 Iona Rd, Fort Myers). The Liberty Ball is a special event to honor all military veterans. Tickets are $35/person and include a full dinner, patriotic program and live music by Side by Side.  Doors open at 5:30 PM.  Patriotic Ceremony at 6pm followed by dinner.     FMB COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS
    & GRANTS

    In 2019, the Fort Myers Beach Community Foundation awarded over $25,000 to numerous organizations who serve those living in and around the beach community. Any organization seeking funding or a donation is welcome to submit their request in writing on letterhead to the foundation. The foundation is currently seeking requests not only from charities but from those seeking tuition assistance. In 2019, they provided over $10,000 in scholarships. Scholarships may be used toward any form of education including trade schools and certificate programs. The program is designed to support the varied needs of each applicant, which might mean childcare for someone studying for their GED or someone returning to school for a certificate program.     PAUL TODD CONCERT

    Acclaimed singer/entertainer Paul Todd will appear in concert on TH Mar 5 at 7pm at the Beach United Methodist Church. Paul & Friends will perform “The Music of Broadway.” The concert is open to all with no tickets sold. A free-will offering will be taken.     COMMOTION BY THE OCEAN

    The FMB Chamber of Commerce will present a Candidate Forum on Thursday, March 5 from 6-9pm at the Beach Baptist Church, 130 Connecticut Street. Open to the entire community, this is a great opportunity to get to know the candidates and where they stand on local issues. A Meet & Greet begins at 6pm with the program at 7pm.     KIWANIS SCHOLARSHIPS

    The Fort Myers Beach Kiwanis Club is now accepting scholarship applications from students in the 33931 zip code area for the 2020-2021 academic year. Applications can be found at fortmyersbeachkiwanis.org The $2,000 scholarships are renewable. The Dr. Leroy Hommerding Memorial Scholarship, worth $5,000, is awarded to the graduating senior with the highest GPA. First time applications must be received by March 27, 2020. Renewal applications must be received by June 1, 2020. Scholarship winners are invited to attend any Kiwanis meeting as their guest. Upcoming Beach Kiwanis meetings will be held at 7:30am at Bonita Bill’s, 702 Fisherman’s Wharf, on Feb. 21, March 6 and March 20.
