For over 50 years the Caloosahatchee Marching and Chowder Society (CMCS) has hosted a Summerset Regatta marking the end of the Summer season and raising funds to support youth sailing activities in Southwest Florida. Last year CMCS distributes $9,900 to youth sailing efforts.
Recently, artist Pat Ricci’s painting, “Red Sails in the Sunset” was selected by the CMCS as the Official Artwork for the 2017 Summerset Regatta. The image will be featured on t-shirts and marketing materials for the event to be held October 6-8, 2017.
Pat Ricci of Cape Coral is a watercolor instructor at the Cape Coral Art League. Pat’s painting “Alligator” was exhibited in the Art Council of Southwest Florida Winners’ Circle Show 2017 at the Von Liebig Art Center, Naples, FL.
CMCS is a non-profit Sailing Club, which raises money every year to donate to Gulf Coast youth sailing organization in Southwest Florida. Typically the Summerset Regatta raises and distributes thousands of dollars to youth sailing activities from Tampa Bay to Marco Island. The Summerset Regatta attracts sailing clubs from up and down the Gulf Coast that converge on Fort Myers Beach for a weekend of great racing and social events. Business sponsorships and boat entry fees offset costs to allow funds to be distributed back to the communities where the entries and sponsorships came from.
