Students Celebrate at Historic Cottage

Each holiday season, Beach School students are invited to attend a brief party at the Historic Cottage, sponsored by the Estero Island Historic Society. This year 1st graders in Mrs. Reed’s room and Kindergartners in Mrs. Cribbs class enjoyed a field trip to the Historic Cottage, which is all decked out for Christmas, on Tuesday, December 19. Once there, local historian A.J. Bassett introduced them to a little bit of Island history and the cottage’s role as a nature center, before the students enjoyed some time playing with a collection of toys. During their visit the 1st graders sang “Frosty, the Snow Man” for AJ and the other volunteers. Before their brief field trip ended, students were each given a cookie and a special Christmas tattoo sheet before they headed back to class.
