The 21st Annual Town of Fort Myers Beach Saint Patrick’s Day Parade was a grand success and I want to thank some people who helped me make it the fun event it was. Our title sponsors this year included the Ascension Council Knights of Columbus, Castaways Restaurant, Skye’s Restaurant, The Islander Boutique, south end 7-11s, Santini Marina Plaza and the Church of the Ascension. I would also like to thank all of the parade participants who also contributed to the cause. Without the generosity of all these folks it would be impossible to put it all together. I would also like to thank the Town of Fort Myers Beach, the Lee County Commission, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office and the Fort Myers Beach Fire Control District for the assistance they provide year in and year out. Our own Lee County Pipes and Drums were joined this year by the Nassau County (Long Island, N.Y.) Pipe and Drum Band visiting our sunny shores. Estero Boulevard was awash with pipes and drums and I want to send out a big thank you to our regulars and our visitors. You’re welcome back anytime guys! Thanks again to all the spectators and participants for making this little parade the annual blast that it is and we’ll see you again next year on Saint Patrick’s Day, Monday March 17th, 2020! Erin Go Braugh!
