Meet Your Shrimp Festival Princesses


Anika-MarrAnika Marr : Miss Trico Shrimp

Princess Anika Marr is a sophomore at Cypress Lake High School where she has been accepted into the Visual Arts Department. She stays academically busy taking Honors classes and Center for the Arts classes and is in the Advanced Placement Capstone Academy. She has exhibited her artwork in several student shows and is currently Vice-President of her school’s Gay Straight Alliance. She hopes to attend an Art Institute after graduating in 2019. Anika’s hobbies include art, music, time with friends and family and supporting others. Some of her interests include the ocean, children, the 80’s, books, music, her Shorkie, Jett and her Maine Coon cat, Fluffy. Anika was born in Salina Kansas and moved to Fort Myers when she was 3.


Chloe-StamChloe Stam : Miss Property Medic

 Princess Chloe Stam is a homeschooled junior who hopes to attend the Word of Life Bible Institute in Hudson, Florida, majoring in Youth Ministry. She lives on Fort Myers Beach and enjoys visiting her hometown of Bethel, Ohio each summer. The eldest of five children, Chloe places serving her family and others as the highest priority in her life. Chloe is active in church youth groups both here and in Hudson. She maintains a 3.2 grade point average and finds history to be her most interesting subject, volunteering the past two years for the Visions of the Past event reenacting Fort Myers Beach history. She helped establish a “Helping Hands” ministry and recently started her own business selling hand-made items. Chloe enjoys spending time with friends and family as well as reading, running, crocheting and beach time.


Elsie Roper : Miss Semmer Electric

Elsie-RoperPrincess Elsie Roper moved here 1½ years ago from Westford, Massachusetts and is a student at Florida SouthWestern College. Fort Myers Beach has always been her home away from home as she spent vacations every year at her parent’s winter vacation home on Sanibel and at her Great Grandparents vacation home, which has been in the family for over 50 years, on Fort Myers Beach. After graduating from Westford Academy where she was Captain of her Cheerleading Squad and a member of the East Elite Cheerleading Squad, she attended Middlesex Community College in Bedford, MA before transferring to FSW to continue her studies. In addition to her academic pursuits, she works at Wyndham Garden Hotel on FMB and at the Bonita Springs Pincher’s Restaurant. She plans to get her Real Estate license this summer.


Jordan-SeavyJordan Seavy : Miss Red Coconut

Princess Jordan Seavy is a junior at Florida gulf Coast University majoring in Environmental Studies. She grew up on Anna Maria Island, just off the coast of Bradenton, Florida. She has on older sister who teaches kindergarten in Tampa. She loves everything about the beach and ocean and has a passion for all kinds of animals. Following graduation, she hopes to work at an aquarium or do coral reef rehabilitation. Jordan grew up on an island and loves the beach community. Having the beach in close proximity to FGCU was the best part about coming to school here. She finds beach people friendly and inviting. In her free time she likes to paint, spend time with her friends and work on her car. She is very excited about participating in the Shrimp Festival this year!


Kelsey Collins : Miss Professional Gulf Lawn Service

Kelsey-CollinsPrincess Kelsey Collins is a student at Florida Gulf Coast University where she is studying to become a High School Special Education teacher. She is a Fort Myers Beach native, attending Beach Elementary and South Fort Myers High School. Kelsey has been active in church youth groups on the island at Beach Baptist and Chapel by the Sea. In addition to her full time course schedule, Kelsey works at Doc Ford’s. She is a member of Zeta Tau Alpha at FGCU where she is active in their philanthropy efforts, especially Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. She hopes to be accepted in the FGCU School of Education and is working on meeting her service hours and participation requirements.


Mallory-SmithMallory Smith : Miss Fish-Tale Marina

 Princess Mallory Smith is a senior at South Fort Myers High School, who is also taking classes at Florida SouthWestern State College. She enjoys the academic challenge while preparing to graduate from high school and attend college, where she hopes to eventually study medicine. Her career goal is to become an anesthesiologist, following in her great grandfather’s footsteps. While in high school, she was involved in Student Government, cheerleading and Renaissance Club, serving as a mentor and peer helper. She enjoyed cheerleading as she developed a lot of friendships and great memories. Mallory enjoys spending time with her family on their boat and babysitting her two cousins, Olivia and Emelia. Spending time with her family is very important to her and she enjoys the laughter that is always part of family gatherings.


Madison Tezak : 2016 Shrimp Festival Queen

Madison-TezakQueen Madison Tezak is 17 years old and a senior at Cypress Lake High School, where she continues her passion of working with special needs children, varsity volleyball and Center for the Arts dance. She is dual enrolled at Florida SouthWestern State College and hopes to attend Florida Gulf Coast University in the fall with the help of the generous scholarship from the Fort Myers Beach Lions Club. As Queen she also participated in the Fourth of July parade. She has used her title in several honors categories for colleges and scholarships. She is very appreciative of the opportunities available to her as 2016 Shrimp Festival Queen and excited to see who will be the 2017 Queen. She wishes all the 2017 Princesses Good Luck!


Samantha-GonnellyPrincess Samantha : Miss Holiday Water Sports

Princess Samantha Elizabeth Gonnelly is 20 years old and a 2015 graduate of Mariner High School. She is currently attending Florida SouthWestern College studying in the radiology program.
