At Noon, Sunday, March 15th
The most “fulfilling” event of the Shrimp Festival kicks off at noon on Sunday, March 15 on the festival grounds at Lynn Hall Memorial Park. Ten sponsored contestants will compete to see who can eat the most cooked and peeled Fort Myers Beach Pink Shrimp in 8 minutes. Spectators will be able to cheer for their favorite contestant AND vote for People’s Choice with $1 donations. Will two-time Champ Joel Martinez defend his crown or will a newcomer take it? All proceeds support FMB Lions Club charities, so come to the park and bring your dollar bills to vote for People’s Choice! You can also vote online now at FMBShrimpFest.com. When the contest is over, grab a Lions Shrimp Dinner in the park and stick around for the Shrimp Queen Pageant, held on Sunday at 1pm this year. Don’t miss it! Photos provided.
