Show Off Your Talent!

In a quirky little community like ours, there are lots of folks with many unique talents, and now there’s an event where all these folks can come together in one place to show the world what they’ve got! On Saturday, February 13th, the 3rd Annual Fort Myers Beach’s Got Talent competition returns to Santini Marina Plaza.

“Do you dance? Sing? Play a musical instrument?” said organizer Bonnie Roberts. “And this isn’t just for adults, we want kids, too – we want to showcase how diverse and creative this community is!” Roberts told us that there will be two divisions, and both will receive trophies for first, second and third place: Juniors – ages 5-15 and Seniors – ages 16 and up.

“The event is from 9am to 2pm, with the competition itself from 10:30am to 12:30pm,” Bonnie told us. “Folks will compete on a big stage set up in Santini’s parking lot, with the judging being done by local celebrities.”

Legendary karaoke artist Brenda B will be providing musical accompaniment and microphones for competitors who need it, but those with instruments are asked to bring their own. Those who need to make arrangements for musical accompaniment will be put in touch with Brenda prior to the event.

“Star MC’s Mark List and Jesse Titus (appearing as Roy Clark and Minnie Pearl) will bring you onto the stage and keep the show moving,” Roberts said. “And none other than Jo List will be opening and closing the show with her amazing voice.”

“In addition to the competition, we’re going to have over 40 arts and crafts vendors, lip-smacking BBQ by Bonez Brothers, great food and tropical drinks offered by the restaurants of Santini Marina Plaza,” Bonnie continued. “The event is free, and there is plenty of free parking – I only ask that folks not park in the lane behind the vendors.”

Roberts is taking registration for the event right now, and urges everyone with a talent to sign up and come down and participate in this exciting event. “People can also bring their own music if they wish,” she said. “I only ask that the performances be no longer than four minutes and they be appropriate for a family audience.”

The event will also feature a 50/50 raffle for Find A Home, Give A Home Island Pet Rescue, and any donations of pet food for the program will be greatly appreciated.

To register for this event – which doesn’t cost a penny – call Bonnie directly at 239-443-8810 or email her at
