The Beach School held a pep rally Friday afternoon, getting students fired up for the Kids Shrimp Run on Saturday and recognizing one of their teachers for being named a High Impact teacher. After an absence of several years, the Kids Shrimp Run returned this year organized by the Cypress Lake High School Boosters. Cypress Lake Athletic Director Liam Farrell brought a couple of all grown up Beach School kids to the rally to help get the kids ready. Lexi Hoerr and Paul Cribbs, both athletes and heading to college on scholarship next year, danced and exercised with the kids and then passed out “energy cookies.” MC and PE teacher Heather Lodovico thanked Bella Signs and Tiffany of Hammerhead Gym for providing the t-shirts that each student was wearing.
Principal Larry Wood recognized Jennifer Wood who was recently named a High Impact Teacher by the Florida Department of Education, one of only 273 in Lee County Public Schools, out of over 5,500 teachers.
