As snowbirds, who are also 20 year plus owners on the island, we are suffering through our second season of Estero Blvd reconstruction. It is encouraging to see the final product begin to appear. The wide sidewalks are especially appreciated as will the rain water drainage.
However, since we live by Lovers Lane, it is troubling to see the road work has skipped over the Red Coconut property. Clearly the Red Coconut has hedges, trees, a wash house and 20 trailer spots that severely encroach on the 65-foot right of way. They have made quite a bit of money over the years renting out County property to snowbirds. (Will the County) allow the Red Coconut to disrupt the road improvements to their continual benefit and the detriment of all others?
