Family Initiative, Inc., a Southwest Florida nonprofit dedicated to supporting children who have autism and strengthening their families, raised more than $8,000 for local families at its 3rd Annual “Reeling for Autism” fishing tournament and silent auction event at Nervous Nellie’s on Fort Myers Beach.

Hundreds of locals attended the event – which included the tournament, silent auction and other family activities – to raise money and awareness of autism, which affects 1 in 59 children across the country. Dozens of children practiced fishing from the dock while live music and raffles encouraged participation from Nervous Nellie’s patrons.
