Reading is Fun!

Beach Elementary School students recently enjoyed a Reading is Fundamental day at school. RIF days include a special craft and story or presentation plus the chance to pick out a brand new book to keep! Their most recent RIF Day’s theme was, “What is your gift?” and included a harp performance by Sandy Nelson who then spoke of her musical gift before asking the students to write about their own special gift. Volunteers Janna Holms, Kathy Delbalzo and Nelson helped to make the day possible. The RIF program continues at Beach School through former bookkeeper Linda Gassner’s diligent efforts. RIF is no longer a funded program and Linda reached out to the community for financial assistance and their generous and ongoing support allows our Beach School to support our children’s efforts to read and be successful.
