Putt & Pub Crawl For Kids

The 7th Annual Putt & Pub Crawl is coming to Fort Myers Beach on Saturday, January 21st and if you and your friends want to play, you need to act fast as there are just a few spaces remaining.

The Putt & Pub Crawl is a fundraiser this year for the Beach Elementary PTO and the Fort Myers Beach Soccer League, two well-known local organizations that benefit Island kids.

Fort Myers Beach Youth Soccer provides a fall soccer program with team play and skills development for kids ages 3-17. Scholarships allow all kids to participate regardless of their ability to pay.

The Beach Elementary PTO provides financial support for field trips, after school clubs, technology and other programs that enrich students’ learning experience, explained Ginger Weber, Fundraising Chair for the PTO.

“The PTO also offers grants for teachers for classroom supplies, so teachers don’t have to reach into their own pockets to provide materials for their classroom,” Weber said.

The Putt & Pub Crawl works like this…each of the nine sponsors sets up a “goofy golf” hole. Teams of four then visit all nine sponsors between 10am and 4:30 pm, in search of that perfect score. Each sponsor will also have prizes, raffles and drink specials. Teams can play the holes in any order they wish but they have to play all nine holes by 4:30 and turn in their scorecard by 5pm to qualify for prizes. The after party at the Yucatan Beach Stand includes dinner and award presentations as well as a basket raffle, 50/50 raffle and more. Costumes count so make sure your team stands out!

The nine hole sponsors are Salty Crab, Mermaid, Pete’s Time Out, PierSide Grill & Famous Blowfish Bar, Smokin’ Oyster Brewery, Matanzas on the Bay, La Ola, Gulfshore Grill & The Cottage and Yucatan Beach Stand.

To register for the Putt & Pub Crawl, contact Lahaina Realty, 463-0000, or stop by their office at 6035 Estero Blvd, Fort Myers Beach to complete a registration form and drop off a check. Cost to participate is $225 per 4-person team.
