Work Begins Sunday November 17

“The Town of Fort Myers Beach waterlines contractor will continue to move south along Estero Boulevard installing new waterlines,” said Kaye Molnar of Cella Molnar & Associates, spokesperson for the reFRESH Estero Boulevard Projects in announcing the beginning of Phase 4 work that will run to the south end of Fort Myers Beach and the conclusion of the Town’s waterline construction.

“On Sunday evening, November 17, crews will shift Estero Boulevard traffic to the bayside from Albatross Street to Buccaneer Drive,” continued Molnar. “Once the traffic shift is done, crews will do several underground directional drills in the Gulf side right-of-way and across Estero Boulevard south of Albatross Street to the end of the island.”

Several projects continue on Phase 3 of the waterline construction from Madera Road to Albatross Street. reFRESH waterline crews are installing water main on both sides of Estero Boulevard along with side street connections. North and southbound traffic shifts to the beachside from Lazy Way to Gulf Drive for bayside water main installation, and north and southbound traffic moves to the bayside from Gulf Drive to Albatross Street for beachside water main installation.

Contractors for the Town are completing restoration work on the following side streets: Aberdeen Avenue, Dakota Avenue, Driftwood Lane, Dundee Road, Lazy Way, Lauder Street, Madera Road, Mound Road, Palmetto Street, and Williams Drive / Glenview Manor Drive. Remaining road and right-of-way restoration on Driftwood Lane will be complete when Lee County crews install the storm drain outfall.

For Phase 4 side streets, Town contractors will install storm drainage on Buccaneer Drive, Lagoon Road, Lenell Road following Laguna Shores work, Redfish Road, and Tarpon Road. Crews on Lagoon Road will continue to install storm drain pipe from Tarpon Road north. On Redfish Road, the construction workers will continue installing storm drain pipe from Estero Boulevard to Lagoon Road.

As for Tarpon Road, crews will relocate water main where it conflicts with the storm drain installation. This means that Tarpon Road will close from Estero Boulevard to Lagoon Road from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Workers will accommodate local traffic to the best extent possible, with through traffic to follow the detour signs.
