Pet Rescue Equipment Donated

The Fort Myers Beach Fire Department were the recipients of a generous donation earlier this week that will thrill pet-owners in the fire district – pet oxygen mask kits. When a fire occurs in the home, family pets can become an unfortunate casualty. Proper pet rescue equipment allows firefighters to treat pets on scene. These masks allow firefighters to give oxygen to pets who are suffering from smoke inhalation when they are rescued from fires. The masks often save pets’ lives. Invisible Fence of Southwest Florida donated eight pet oxygen mask kits to the fire department this week. Thru January 1, 2019 Invisible Fence® Brand with Project Breathe has donated more than 25,000 individual masks (8390 kits) to fire departments throughout the United States and Canada with the results of 201 recorded known saves.  Invisible Fence of SW Florida has donated locally 56 mask kits and has 2 recorded saves.

The Fire Department also offers door decals to notify firefighters that a pet is in the home. For more information, call 239-590-4200.
