This Saturday, October 21st, the Ostego Bay Foundation will host a Founders Day Celebration with an Open House from 10am-2pm at the Marine Science Center at 718 Fisherman’s Wharf on San Carlos Island.
The Ostego Bay Foundation has been promoting marine conservation through science education for 26 years. The foundation supports the Marine Science Center, Working Waterfront tours, summer camp, Florida Master Naturalist classes plus dolphin and manatee research projects.
The Marine Science Center offers interactive exhibits, aquariums, a touch tank, one of kind collections and unique displays. Open Monday – Saturday 10am-4pm with both guided and self-guided tours.
The center also offers a Working Waterfront Tour most Wednesdays from 9am-noon. Learn about “Pink Gold” and the oldest and largest shrimping fleet in Florida. Tour includes a 90-minute guided visit to the Marine Science Center and a visit to the commercial fishing industry. Reservations required.
The mission of the Ostego Bay Foundation, Inc. is to promote the understanding, preservation and enhancement of our unique marine environment through education, research and community involvement. The Foundation provides interactive educational experiences to encourage stewardship of our natural resources.
