Nicole Pedone, 42, of South Euclid, Ohio passed away on June 3, 2016. She was the beloved daughter of Sal Pedone and stepdaughter of Dottie Pedone of Fort Myers Beach.
Nicole was one of those rare people you meet who leaves quite an impression on you.
She was diagnosed with Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes at age 10, but never let it slow her down. Nicole was a 1992 graduate of Maple Heights High School and a graduate of Bowling Green University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Interpersonal Communications. After graduating from college, Nicole lost her vision due to complications of diabetes. She became an advocate for all affected by the disease. She spoke on Capitol Hill urging Congress to reject the Health Insurance Marketplace Modernization and Affordability Act along with Senator Ted Kennedy.
Nicole actively volunteered with the American Diabetes Association, The Ohio Army National Guard and the Cleveland Sight Center. She was also actively involved with the Guiding Eyes for the Blind.
Through all the obstacles given to her in life, she met them head on and accepted them. She was truly a bright star whose light dimmed too soon.
