Midnight Robber Sought on Fort Myers Beach

Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers is asking for the public’s help identifying and tracking down an armed man who robbed a Fort Myers Beach restaurant just after midnight this morning.

An employee of the Pier Side Grill, located at 1000 Estero Boulevard, was tallying the night’s proceeds around 12:15 a.m. when an unknown male approached her from behind. He pulled her hair back, then pushed her forward, and demanded all the cash on hand. The suspect then used an unknown dark colored object to strike the victim in the head, causing her to fall to the ground. The man fled on foot, with an undisclosed amount of cash, and now deputies need the public’s help identifying him.

Video surveillance shows that the suspect is a white male, of average height, last seen wearing a black knit cap or ski mask, green camouflage pants with tan loafer shoes without laces.

Anyone with information on the identity and whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS (8477). All callers will remain anonymous and will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
