    Chapel by the Sea Presbyterian Church will host its monthly, community Spaghetti Dinner on SA July 13 from 5-7pm On the menu will be Spaghetti & Meatballs, Spicy Sausage and Peppers & Onions, Salad, Garlic Bread, Dessert and beverages. Tickets $10/person with kids 10 and under free. Wine tickets 2 for $5.

    The 6th Annual FMB Chamber Bowling Bash will be held on July 18 from 4-9pm at Beach Bowl. Enter a team of up to 6 players and play from 5-7pm or 7-9pm. Cost is $75/team or $14/individual or $10 gallery ticket for non-players. Open to the public. Prizes for each round, plus free food and a cash bar.     The kiddie pool is currently closed for the installation of a new play structure. The new structure will be completed and the kiddie pool open around the beginning of August. Expect updates closer to August on exact date. During the construction, the main pool will remain open.


    Art Quilters Unlimited (AQU) will hold their next meeting on SA July 13 at 12:30pm at St. Hilary’s Episcopal Church, 5011 McGregor Blvd, Fort Myers. AQU is a group of artists interested in sharing fiber arts knowledge, supporting creativity through workshops and expanding the appreciation of our work with community and regional exhibits. All are welcome – novice to expert. Meetings are held the second Saturday of the following months:  January, February, March, May, July, September and November.     Support the Fort Myers Beach Art Association by participating in Drag Queen Bingo every Friday in July at the Nauti Parrot Dock Bar,19001 San Carlos Blvd. Bingo like you’ve never played it before!     The Fort Myers Beach Kiwanis Club invites anyone interested in learning more about their service club and their efforts to serve our community and children to attend one of their meetings at Bonita Bill’s meeting room, 702 Fisherman’s Wharf, FMB. They offer a flexible meeting schedule with lunch or dinner meetings. Their next dinner meeting is on TH July 18 at 5:30pm and their next lunch meeting on FR Aug 9 at noon.     The Fort Myers Beach Library will host its second annual Christmas in July celebration on TH July 25. Head to the library for all things Christmas – cookies, punch, music, games and Mrs. Claus.     The Beach Pool at the Bay Oaks Recreational Campus offers swim lessons MO – TH from 8:30-10am. The last summer weekday session will be July 22 – Aug 1. Fall swim lessons will be offered on WE from 2:30 – 3:30pm Aug 28 – Oct 9; or on Sunday from 11am-12:30pm Aug 25 – Oct 6.     FMB is in the midst of turtle nesting AND hatching season! Beachfront homeowners are asked to do their part to protect our nesting and newly hatched turtles. Turtles are disoriented by lights shining on the beach. Shield your outdoor lights or replace the bulbs with Amber LED bulbs. Turtles cannot see amber LED lighting, but humans can. Turtle-friendly lights are now available at Town Hall or at If you walk on the beach at night, DO NOT use a flashlight or your cell phone! If you rent your condo or home near the beach, change outdoor bulbs now and leave instructions to close the drapes after sunset to prevent light from shining on the beach. Remove or stack beach furniture close to the building. Remove all beach litter. Fill in all holes you dig on the beach. You can make a difference! For more information on sea turtles visit


    Fort Myers Beach residents and businesses may obtain a hurricane re-entry pass at Town Hall. In the event of an evacuation, passes may be required to re-enter the island. If you have a Purple (resident) or Yellow (business) pass, they are valid for the 2019 season. If you do not already have one of those, pick up an application at Town Hall or online at The Town of Fort Myers Beach website: Emergency Preparedness.
