Littlest Library Debuts

What could be better than ice cream and an interesting new book to read? That’s what the Fort Myers Beach Elementary Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) and Royal Scoop Ice Cream-Fort Myers Beach thought when they partnered to provide a free book exchange for kids called “The Beach Kids’ Littlest Library,” whose motto is:

“Take a book, read a book or leave a book.”

Located in a brightly painted bookshelf at Royal Scoop at 2307 Estero Blvd, the Littlest Library provides families access to free books, plus a place to drop off gently-used books their children have outgrown. Books have already been donated by the Kiwanis, PTO and Beach School families. More were arriving even as the PTO celebrated the opening of the Littlest Library this week, with what else, ice cream.

The colorful shelf was decorated by PTO Vice-President Chris Alward and signage was donated by The Print Shop, Ink. Anyone who would like to know more about the PTO’s efforts to support Beach School can contact Kim West at 239-910-2918 or Janna Clark at 917-750-5793.
