Lee County Clerk of Court Linda Doggett will present a Public Records Workshop, “The Value of Searching Records and Online Services” on Wednesday, May 18th from 1:30-3:30pm at the Fort Myers Beach Public Library.
At this workshop, attendees will learn about the Clerk of Courts Office, the CFO of County government-responsible for all county funds that flow through over 30 county departments. The office is responsible also for issuing marriage licenses, summoning jurors and producing County Commission minutes. The Clerk of Court website provides online services that allow public record searches, filing of court documents, bidding on tax deeds and foreclosures or paying child support, traffic fines and tourist taxes and much more.
Public records are invaluable to businesses and organizations, and can help residents and consumers make better-informed decisions in their daily life. Learn what to do if you suspect fraud, waste or financial mismanagement involving court-appointed guardians over elderly, minor children and incapacitated individuals. Learn how to search public records for copies of deeds and mortgages; review court records of prospective tenants, employees, contractors and doctors; pay traffic tickets online; request postponement or excusal of Jury Duty and more.
The seminar is free and informative so join Clerk Doggett as she guides you through the information available on the Lee County Clerk of Court website. Seating is on a first come first serve basis and subject to capacity. Please arrive early for best seating.
