James L. “Slick” Scott, age 73, of Fort Myers Beach, passed away suddenly at home on Wednesday, June 24th. James was born to L.C. Scott and Mary Edna Sanders Scott on May 8, 1947 in Brownfield, Mississippi. He was a longtime resident of Collierville, Tennessee. James married Linda M. McGregor in 1970. He relocated to Fort Myers Beach, Florida after the passing of his wife Linda and lived there until his passing.
James worked in the automotive industry and did body work. James was predeceased by his father, L.C. Scott; mother, Mary Edna Scott; brother, Wayne Scott; nephew, Travis Scott and wife, Linda Scott.
He is survived by two sons, Tommy (Kim) Scott and Aaron Scott; brothers, Joe (Debbie) Scott, Tom (Katey) Scott, Jim (Bonnie) Scott; partner Margaret Mountz and numerous nieces and nephews.
James was always smiling, never held a grudge and loved to laugh. He was beloved by many friends and family. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and traveling when he could, meeting people along the path of life. As per James’ wishes no service will be held. A private memorial to be held at a later date in Tennessee at one of James’ favorite camping spots on a beautiful river.
