The Island Hopper Songwriter Fest will arrive on Fort Myers Beach this weekend to wrap up its ten-day gig in Southwest Florida! Now in its sixth year, the Island Hopper has drawn some of country music’s greatest singer-songwriters. From 7pm Friday, September 27 until the last note fades near sunset Sunday, September 29, the beach will host over sixty performances by BMI songwriters, with just one a ticketed event.

On Sunday night, Rodney Atkins, Jerrod Neimann and Striking Matches will perform at the Pink Shell Pool Party. Doors open at 4:30pm; show starts at 5:30pm Tickets are $35.

The other 60+ shows are about an hour long, and feature two songwriters. On Friday, Island Hopper shows begin at 7pm and go to 10:30pm at most venues. Saturday shows start at 2:30pm and end at 9:30pm. On Sunday, Island Hopper music will fill the air from 1:30 – 4pm. Tickets and the full schedule are available at bit.ly/hopperFMB or on the Island Hopper app.

Hosting Island Hopper performances Friday to Sunday are PierSide Grill and the Famous Blowfish Bar, Matanzas on the Bay, Nervous Nellie’s, Cabanas Beach Bar, Lighthouse Tiki Bar and Yucatan Beach Stand. Pink Shell will host performances on Saturday and Sunday night, while Pinchers Tiki Bar will host Sunday afternoon performances.

LeeTran encourages Island Hopper attendees to park at the Beach Park & Ride on Pine Ridge Road and hop on a beach trolley. Trolley rides are only 75 cents each or $2 for an all-day pass. On the beach, Lee Tran’s free open-air trams will operate from Bowditch Point to Matanzas Pass Preserve, taking riders past most Island Hopper venues. Trams will operate Friday 3 – 11pm; Saturday 11am – 11pm and Sunday noon to 9pm.

Island Hopper attendees are invited to arrive early for seating. Don’t forget to tip your wait staff and bartenders who make this event possible. And remember, Open Container laws are in effect. Enjoy your beverage before leaving the bar.
