Island Hopper Is Here!

Fort Myers Beach Performances This Weekend

The 4th annual Island Hopper Songwriter Fest culminates its 10-day run with its final weekend, exclusively on Fort Myers Beach, from Friday, September 29, through Sunday, October 1.

“The restaurants and bars that host Island Hopper events need the extra business, and their servers need the tips,” said Tamara Pigott, Executive Director for the Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau, “but perhaps more importantly, Southwest Florida needs to begin the healing process after such a frightful event like Hurricane Irma, and what is more healing than fantastic music! We certainly don’t want to be insensitive to those still undergoing a tough time, but we want the shows to go on for the good of everyone.”

“No artist dropped out due to Hurricanes Harvey or Irma, so we have some of the best songwriters in the entire nation here,” Tamara said. ‘You may not know their names but they write for big stars like George Strait, Lonestar, Maren Morris and Blake Shelton.”

The Pink Shell Resort & Marina sponsors one of the Fest’s few ticketed performances on Sunday, October 1, when RaeLynn entertains at a pool party at 1 p.m., with tickets at $20.

Performances at Cabanas Beach Bar, Nervous Nellie’s, Matanzas on The Bay, Pierside Grill, Sunset Beach Tropical Grill and Yucatan Beach Stand on Friday, September 29, are from 7 to 10:30 p.m., with Matanzas ending at 9:15 p.m. The same venues host performers on Saturday, September 30, from 2:30 to 9:30 p.m., with Cabanas having a Jam Session from 10 p.m. to Midnight. They have songwriters again on Sunday, October 1, from 1:30 to 4 p.m. The Pink Shell has shows on Saturday, September 30, from 1 to 3:45 p.m. as well as Raelynn on Sunday at 1 p.m., with Pincher’s Crab Shack at 18100 San Carlos Boulevard on Sunday from 1 to 3:30 p.m. To view performer information and locations, see
