    Classic car owners are cordially invites to participate in this casual ‘show-off” Cruise In at Santini Marina Plaza, 7205 Estero Blvd, Fort Myers Beach on SA Apr 22 from 9am-2pm. Classic, Antique and Corvette divisions will be judged by Celebrity judges. It’s a fun day to show off your beautiful vehicles. Judging will begin at 10am with classy plaque awards for 1st and 2nd place at 11:30am. DJ Larry will spin authentic oldies all day. Watch out for dancing in the street to break out at this event! Free parking and free admission. Hourly 50/50 raffles to benefit Find A Home, Give A Home Island Pet Rescue. Donations of pet food greatly appreciated.     Join the FMB Community Foundation, Keep Lee County Beautiful and other volunteers on SA Apr 22 for the Great American Cleanup from 9am-12noon. Meet at Beach Elementary School to pick up gloves, bags and water and your assigned area. Other cleanup sites include Dog Beach and Bunche Beach. See for more details.


    The 5th Annual ‘Mini’ Masters Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce comes to Jungle Golf on TH April 20 with the first tee time of 4 pm. Space is limited to only 18 teams with 5 players each so get your registration in early! Cost is $150 per team. More fun than a barrel of monkeys with Prizes, Raffles and yes, even mulligans. This event is open to the public and anyone can enter a team. Trophies will be awarded for winning team, lowest individual score and highest individual score. Check in and after party to be held at Pinchers Crab Shack with transportation to and from the event provided by Majestic Transportation. Sponsorship opportunities are available!


    Experience the birds of Bunche Beach with a Bird Patrol Guide on TH Apr 27 at 5:30pm. Bunche is an excellent spot for both migrant and resident waders and shorebirds working the mudflats at low tide. Also waterfowl, raptors and warblers. Free with paid parking.     The 2017 Lee County Delicious Dining Discounts Book from the Kiwanis Club of Fort Myers Gateway to the Islands is now available for just $25. The book offers BOGO (By One, Get One) dining discounts at 62 area restaurants, including 12 FMB locations. Most off-season discounts are valid Apr 15-Nov 15, so pick up yours soon. The project supports Kiwanis youth-related projects including the Gladiolus Learning and Development Center, Healthy Start, United Way reading Program and Human Trafficking Awareness Program. Pick up your Dining Discount Book at the Kiwanis Thrift Store, FMB Chamber of Commerce office, Bennett’s Chiropractic, Indian Creek Resort or Gavin’s Ace Hardware.


    The Town of Fort Myers Beach, along with the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization is developing the Town’s first Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. This exciting project promotes a healthy, vibrant and safe community through cycling and walking. Residents are invited to help the Town plan for bikeways, walkways, trails and other related biking and walking projects. An interactive community workshop will be held on WE Apr 26 from 5-7pm at Town Hall, 2525 Estero Blvd, FMB. A presentation about the project including needs assessment and initial programs, project, design and policy recommendations will be included. Check the Town’s website for more information.


    Those who receive mail via a mailbox at the curb are asked to please not block their mailbox with trash or recyclable cans, yard debris or parked cars. Place trash cans at least 10 feet away from any mailbox. With season, delivery schedules are altered, so don’t assume the mail has been delivered and block the mailbox. Leave at least 10 feet on either side of the mailbox or you may not get your mail that day.


    The final concert in the Fort Myers Beach Friends of the Arts Winter Concert Series will be offered on TH Apr 20. The first ever Southwest Florida appearance of the Atlantic City Boys singing the crooning tunes of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Tickets are $25.     The Women’s Club of Fort Myers Beach invites all bridge players to join them every Tuesday and Friday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. for a day of social bridge. Players rotate throughout the day completing 6 rounds. Bring a bagged lunch and enjoy good company and great bridge playing. $5 for non-members; $3 for members. Proceeds from the day go to support various community activities around the island. Coffee, ice tea and water are served. The Woman’s Club is located at 175 Sterling Avenue.     It’s almost turtle nesting season on our beach. Please do your part to protect the turtles, nests and hatchlings when they emerge! Shield your lights so that they are not visible from anywhere on the beach. Better yet, replace existing bulbs with Amber LED bulbs! Find lights here: Stack or remove beach furniture. Remove beach litter. Keep pets on a leash. Stay far away from any turtles or marked nests you may encounter! Fill in any holes you dig in the sand. Please remember, your actions can mean life or death to endangered sea turtles! Report injured turtles by calling Turtle Time at 239-481-5566.


    The 25th annual National Letter Carrier Food Drive will be held on SA, May 13 this year. Each year postal carriers and volunteers collect food donations to stock food pantries for the difficult summer months. On May 13, donations of unopened and unexpired food in unbreakable containers can be left by your mailbox for collection. Seasonal residents are urged to clear out their cabinets before they leave and drop off unopened and unexpired food at their local post office anytime before May 13. All food is welcome, but items especially needed are peanut butter, tuna, rice, beans, canned meat, fruit, vegetables and soup.


    Parrot Key Caribbean Grill hosts two car shows each month, on the 1st and 3rd MO. Next show Dec 5 from 5-9pm. Stop by to see some cool hot rods, classic cars and custom trucks. Have a great car?     The Fort Myers Beach Art Gallery will begin their summer hours after this SA April 15. Between mid-April and mid-October the gallery is open WE & TH from 9am-noon.
