Governor Shuts All Dine-In Restaurants

Carryout & Delivery Allowed

On Friday afternoon, March 20, 2020, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed Executive Order 20-71 calling for the immediate closure of all Florida restaurants for dine-in food consumption. Restaurants may continue to offer carryout or delivery.

The sale of alcohol for consumption on premise is also banned. In limited circumstances, alcohol in sealed containers can be sold along with food by restaurants for carryout or delivery. Retail alcohol sales of sealed containers for off-site consumption may continue.

The order also closes all free-standing gyms and fitness centers. Gyms that have a capacity of 10 or less and are part of a hotel are exempt.

Executive Order 20-71 remains in effect as long as the Governor’s Declaration of a State of Emergency is in effect.
