Friday Night Lights
Golisano Children’s Hospital is complete and children have moved into the new facility. To celebrate the opening of the long-awaited children’s hospital, representatives from EMS, Fire and Police from Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades counties gathered at the hospital on Friday, May 12 for a special event designed to wish the children a good night’s sleep in their brand new hospital.
Public Safety crews, including some from Fort Myers Beach Fire Control District, first met with some of the children in the new building before surrounding the building with their rigs. They then turned on their lights so the outside of the building glowed with light. Meanwhile the children, using glow wands, waved back to the crews. It was a very special “Good Night” that neither the children nor crews will soon forget.
