The 12th annual FMB Polar Bear Club Jump on New Years Day 2017 will benefit Willie Frey a long time beach resident known as the “Beach Painter” and “Ice Hole Willy” who has battled throat/tongue cancer for over a year. Proceeds from this benefit will help to defray the medical costs and expenses incurred from this illness.
The event will be held at the Outrigger Beach Resort, 6200 Estero Blvd on January 1st from 12 noon till 5 PM, and has evolved into a highly anticipated part of the beach culture. Parking is available directly across the street at Charley’s Boathouse Grill.
A silent auction will be held and “Get Wet for Willy” Tee shirts will be available for sale along with 50/50 tickets and cozies. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to donate items that can be used for the silent auction. The event sponsor is the Foundation for the Arts. Please contact either Bonnie Blake (239-738-3251) or Ed Herbert (917-501-3698) with your donations.
The Polar Bear Club Jump is a day filled with fun, camaraderie and great music. Everyone is welcomed and encouraged to become part of the Fort Myers Beach Polar Bears. Rookie Polar Bear recruits are always welcomed to participate and become members of this unique Species on Fort Myers Beach.
