That holiday magic is in the air as our beach town sparkles with twinkling lights and holiday cheer. We’ve compiled a list here of some local holiday events to get everyone in the holiday mood.
Spirit of the Holidays Toy Drive from 11am – 4pm: Support the Spirit of the Holidays efforts to brighten the holiday for local kids and families. Bring an unwrapped toy or cash to Bayside Grille. Sponsored by the Beach Kids Foundation and the Fort Myers Beach Firefighters. Pick up a FMB firefighter calendar and t-shirt also. 17853 San Carlos Blvd, FMB.
Holiday Classics Matinee at 2:30pm: Watch “Home Alone” at the Beach Library.
Spirit of Christmas Dinner Auction from 5-9pm: Local Spirit of Christmas, Inc foundation hosts this annual event to provide Christmas gifts to needy families in SWFL. Held at the FMB American Legion, 899 Buttonwood. Entry is free, dinner $10/person with cash bar. Live Entertainment, raffles and an auction. Spiritofchristmasinc.com
Carol Sing Along at 7:30pm: Join in singing your favorite Christmas carols with the outstanding musicians of St. Peter’s church and the Tropical Storm men’s group at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 3751 Estero, FMB. Free admission. 239-463-4251.
Home for the Holidays Concert at 7pm: Voices of Naples, under the direction of Dr. Doug Renfroe, will present an evening of Holiday favorites, Chapel by the Sea at 7pm. No tickets required. Free will offering. 2500 Estero Blvd, FMB.
Spirit of the Holidays Dinner Auction at 6pm: The Beach Kids Foundation annual dinner auction will be held at DiamondHead Resort with cocktails at 6pm and the dinner and live auction at 7pm. Spirit of the Holidays Pancake Breakfast from 7-11am: Join Fort Myers Beach firefighters who will prepare breakfast for this popular holiday fundraiser for the Beach Kids Foundation. $5/person. 7-11am, Clubhouse at Red Coconut RV Park, 3001 Estero Blvd, FMB.
Toys for Kids from 12 – 8pm: Bring a new unwrapped toy to the Shamrock Irish Pub & stay for the party! Live music, raffles, Silent Auction and fun for all! Toys will go to kids in FMB and surrounding areas. 2201 Estero Blvd, FMB.
Santa Fest from 3 – 9pm: Come to the Wa-Ke Hatchee Rec Center for an exciting evening filled with holiday cheer! Play games, enjoy bounce houses, food trucks, photos with Santa, face painting and a movie in the park, “The Grinch.” Free admission. Toy donations for Golisano Children’s Hospital welcome. Christmas Boat Parade at 6pm: The FMB Chamber of Commerce’s 31st Annual Christmas Boat Parade casts off from Salty Sam’s Marina at 6pm. From there, the decorated boats will cruise past Parrot Key, Shrimp Dock, Doc Fords, Dixie Fish and Bonita Bill’s; then under the skybridge, through two channels in Siesta Bay. After heading towards Bowditch Point, the boats will turn in front of Pink Shell Resort, passing Bayside Park, Nervous Nellie’s and Matanzas on the Bay and finish back at Salty Sam’s. Holiday Bake Sale and Pancake Breakfast from 8 – 11am: Join the Bayside Estates Socialites and the Men’s Club at the Bayside Estates Clubhouse for a tasty breakfast and then pick up some holiday goodies to take home and eat later! Located at 17601 San Carlos Blvd, FMB.
Holiday Tree Craft at 10:30am: Create a tree out of a tomato cage and add some holiday spirit to your home. Pre-register; $10 materials fee. 239-765-8162
Holiday Open House & Bake Sale from 6:30 – 8pm: Join members of the Estero Island Historic Society to mingle and celebrate the holiday season at their annual Open House, held at St. Raphael’s Church, 5601 Williams, FMB. Sip punch, munch on some cookies at 6:30pm. At 7pm, see a performance of “The True Spirit of Men” by Laurie Nienhaus and Carmine Pacchino. Short & dramatic, it is a retelling of the Christmas Truce of 1914. Handmade quilts, notecards and a watercolor print, along with homemade baked goods will be available for sale.

Christmas Tree Festival 5:30 – 8:30pm: Enjoy the 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Festival sponsored by the FMB Woman’s Club at 175 Sterling St., FMB. Nearly 30 trees decorated by local charitable organizations, all up for bid via a silent auction. Plus food trucks, dance teams and an appearance by Santa Claus. The event continues on Dec. 14.
Holiday Pops Concert at 7pm: Welcome the holidays in paradise with the classics and carols by the Symphonic Chorale of Southwest Florida at Village Church at Shell Point Retirement Community. Tickets $35. 239-454-2067,
Christmas Market from 10am – 3pm: The Mound House will host a variety of vendors offering unique gifts. Food and beverages available for purchase. Free Mound House admission on Dec 14. Event supports the Friends of the Mound House. 451 Connecticut St, FMB. Parking available at 216 Connecticut St.
Christmas Tree Festival from 3:30 – 8pm: Auction continues until 7pm, plus there will be a Holiday bake sale, Live music, chili tasting from 5:30 – 8pm. Cash bar both nights. Bring new unwrapped toy for the Spirit of the Holidays.
Christmas Concert at 2pm: The Bonita Springs Concert Band will delight with holiday music. Bring a lawn chair to Bonita’s Riverside Park on Old 41.
Holiday Inn Concert at 7pm: Beach United Methodist Church presents an enchanting evening inspired by Irving Berlin featuring your favorite Christmas songs sung by Paul Todd, Paul Todd Jr. and the St. Agnes Choir. Refreshments available. Free will offering. 239-463-9656. 155 Bay Rd, FMB.
Spirit of the Holidays Wrapping Party at 5pm: Help wrap the toys donated during Beach Kids Foundation’s fundraisers at this special party that begins at 5pm.. Red Coconut RV Park clubhouse. 3001 Estero Blvd, FMB.
Blue Christmas Service at 7pm: Chapel by the Sea recognizes that this season, often full of holidays and joy, can be hard for those who mourn and those in difficult passages in their lives.
