The Estero Island Garden Club gathered Monday morning to decorate a Christmas tree in the 3rd floor commons area of the Fort Myers Beach Library. They have been decorating a tree at the library for several years, but this year the tree is larger and the tree décor is all based on a beach theme, ”Silver Shells.”
Garden Club members met in early November for a tour of the Edison Ford Estates Garden Nursery before participating in a workshop on handcrafted shell ball ornaments, which now adorn the library tree. Approximately 25 members of the club participated in the tree decorating Monday before posing with the beautiful result. The tree will be in place on the third floor until January 2, 2017.
On Thursday, Garden Club members returned to the library to assist Beach School Art teacher Holly Nichols, members of the Art Club and students decorate a Christmas tree on the library’s 2nd floor. Another tradition of the club and the school, this tree holds ornaments the students created in class and in the afterschool Art Club.
