The Art Gallery of the Fort Myers Beach Art Association hosted the Student Scholarship Show this week, showcasing the work of local high school and middle school art students. On Sunday, April 7, the FMBAA held a Scholarship Awards reception at the gallery, located at 3030 Shell Mound Blvd.

From Cypress Lake High School Center for the Arts Class of 2019, 1st Prize Art Excellence Award of $1200 college art tuition scholarship + $175 went to Vivien Cimafranca. 2nd Prize Art Excellence Award of $1000 college art tuition scholarship +$125 went to Brianna Johnson. 3rd Prize Art Excellence Award of $800 college art tuition scholarship +$75 went to Anika Mar.

Artistic Merit Awards of $50 each went to: Calina-Sophie Carstens, Alicia Gomez, Ren Montgomery, Leila Rodrigues, Gabriella Schol and Sean Shackleford.

Lexington Middle School students who received 2019 Award of Artistic Achievement are: 1st Place Razan Makawi, 2nd Place Adrian Al Bahou, and 3rd Place Alexandra Logan.

The show was judged by Anita Putnam and Carolyn Johns.

The FMBAA Art Gallery offers free admission. Gallery hours are 10am-3pm through Saturday, April 13. Beginning Wednesday, April 17, summer hours will be Wednesdays and Thursdays from 9am-12pm. For more information call 239-463-3909 or visit www.fortmyersbeachart.com.
