Food Bank Needs Your Help


Santini Marina Plaza Fresh Market and Artisan Village are sponsoring the Harry Chapin Food Bank Fill the Pantry Drive on Saturday, November 5th from 9am-2pm. Come by and help fill the barrels with non-perishable food items to help stock the food pantry for the upcoming holidays. Most needed items are canned meats and fish, fruit (cups, cans, dried), canned vegetables, soups, cereal, peanut butter, rice/pasta/mac & cheese, boxed potatoes and dry beans.

When your bring your donation to the Nov 5th event, stop by the Fresh Market and Artisan Village where you’ll find the Santini Fresh Produce market, Artisan vendors with original art, jewelry, clothing and more, along with food and drink choices from the Restaurants of Santini and entertainment by DJ Larry! Come celebrate the beginning of season and donate to this worthy cause.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida is the leading huger relief organization in Southwest Florida. The food bank distributes food to over 150 nonprofit partner agencies (food pantries, food kitchens, relief agencies, shelters, etc.) in Lee, Collier, Charlotte, Glades and Hendry counties. Those 150 agencies serve approximately 28,00 people each week.

In fiscal year 2015-2016, the Harry Chapin Food Bank distributed 20.4 million pounds of food, provided 17 million meals and turned every $1 into $6 worth of food for those in need. Of every $1 spent by the food bank, 97 cents goes directly to food.

The Harry Chapin Food Bank serves the hungry right here in SWFL. Islanders can help by donating food at the Fill the Pantry event at Santini Plaza Nov 5th from 9am-2pm.
