Friday, March 4th, 2016, 20 women from the FMB Yacht Club enjoyed wonderful weather and a terrific outing at the Historic Shangri-La Resort and Spa in Bonita Springs. After meeting at the Great House (built in 1921) and watching an educational video, they were treated to a tour of the beautiful 8.5-acre grounds led by the intrepid, and funny, guide, John. The Shangri-La is home to the original mineral springs for which Bonita Springs is named and also home to 2 of only 5 Indian Mysore Fig trees (pictured with the group below) in the U.S. After the tour, the group enjoyed a delicious and healthy organic lunch complete with pie for dessert. Following lunch, they browsed the gift shop and toured the on-site spa. For more information on the Shangri-La, visit their website at shangrilasprings.com.
