Keeping a child safe while riding in a vehicle is one of a parent’s most important responsibilities. It can also be one of the most perplexing. With so many different types of car seats available, making a decision on which is most appropriate and then installing it properly can be quite a challenge.
Every year thousands of young children are killed on our nation’s roads and highways. The proper installation and regular use of a car seat helps to keep children safe.
This year on May 24, 2017, the Fort Myers Beach Fire Department is teaming up with partners Safe Kids of Lee Coalition and the Golisano Children’s Hospital to conduct car seat installations and inspections at Fire Station 32, located at 17891 San Carlos Blvd, Fort Myers Beach.
District residents and visitors who need a car seat installed or inspected are encouraged to come by Station 32 between the hours of 1pm-4pm. If this is not a convenient time, parents can always schedule a car seat inspection or installation by emailing PREVENTION@fmbfire.org.
Stop by Fire Station 32 on May 24th to learn the right way to keep kids safe in your vehicle.
