Lakes Regional Park is a short drive away and a world apart. The 279-acre park located at 7330 Gladiolus Drive in South Fort Myers includes a 158-acre freshwater quarry lake, 2.5 miles of paved or natural paths plus picnic shelters, bicycle and boat rentals, miniature train rides, kids water features and of course, the Botanic Garden area. It’s worth several hours of exploration and is a great family destination.
The Botanic Garden at Lakes Park includes several gardens: Fragrance Garden, Rose Garden, Water Garden, Succulent Garden and Community Garden. All are available for viewing whenever the park is open from 7am to dusk daily.
Park entry is free, but parking is $1/hour or $5 for all day. Bicyclists and pedestrians are free. The water features are open from 9am to half hour before sunset. The park does not allow pets. For more information on Lakes Regional Park visit bit.ly/LakesPark.
