    All are invited to the monthly Italian Dinner at Chapel by the Sea Silver Hall on SA Apr 8 from 5-7pm. Come for Spaghetti, meatballs, spicy sausage w/peppers and onions, salad, garlic bread, dessert and drinks. All are welcome. Just $10/adults; $5/kids 10 and under; $5/Public Safety Personnel in uniform or w/ID.


    Children from infants to age 12 are invited to participate in the Children’s Easter Egg Hunt and Coloring Contest on Sat Apr 15 at Bay Oaks. Registration begins at 8am with the Egg Hunt beginning at 9am. Hosted by the Beach Kids Foundation Spirit of the Holidays, Red Coconut RV Park, Bay Oaks Recreation Center and Fort Myers Beach Fire Control District Local 1826.

    All are invited to an Easter Egg Stuffing Party on WE Apr 12 at Red Coconut as they need help stuffing over 5,000 eggs. Doors open at 5:30pm and all help is appreciated. Donations of non-chocolate candy are needed and can be dropped off at Bay Oaks or Red Coconut.


    Chapel by the Sea invites area children from age 2-GR 5 to participate in their Easter Egg Hunt and Party on SA Apr 15. Registration begins at 9:30am with games and fun. AT 10:30am the Egg Hunt will begin.


    Enjoy our area’s finest delicacy, Gulf Pink Shrimp, at the final monthly Shrimp Dinner of the season offered at Historic St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church, 5601 Williams Dr. on SA Apr 8 from 5-7pm. All you can eat GULF shrimp, homemade coleslaw, baked beans, cornbread, beer, wine, soda and dessert. $20/per person.


    Lee County and the Town of Fort Myers Beach will hold a public meeting on MO Apr 10 from 5-7pm at Bay Oaks Rec Center on the next phase of Estero Blvd construction (from Lovers Lane to Strandview/Publix) including these side streets: Bay Rd, including Nature View Ct), Donora Blvd, Eucalyptus Ct, Jefferson St., Connecticut St, Bay mar Dr, Hercules Dr and Bayview Ave.) Residents and businesses in this area are invited to meet the project teams, view plans and ask questions about construction details of the water line, storm drainage and road improvements expected to start this summer.


    The Estero Island Taxpayers Association will host a panel of experts at the Town and County level to discuss the County Bed Tax on TU Apr 11 from 6:30 – 8:30pm at the Fort Myers Beach Woman’s club, 175 Sterling, Ave, FMB. Come listen to an overview and some answers on where the money goes and what can be done to direct more back to the island. Panel will include Town Council member and representative to the Tourist Development Council Anita Cereceda, Tamara Pigott, of the Lee County Visitor and Convention Bureau and Larry Kiker, Lee County Commissioner.


    Local speaker Laurie Nienhaus will present her newest program, The Victorian Fairy Painting Tea at the final Teatime Tuesday of the season at the Burroughs Home & Garden, 2505 First Street in downtown Fort Myers on TU Apr 11 beginning at 1pm. Guests will have the opportunity to view quality reprints of the great fairy paintings of the Victorian era and learn of the quirks associated with this unique genre of art. Light afternoon tea fare, fit for a fairy, will be served. Tickets $26. Seating is limited. Reservations required. Call 239-337-9505.


    Get your annual mammogram right here on the beach! Radiology Regional Center’s Mobile Mammo van will be at Santini Marina Plaza on TH Apr 13 from 9am-1pm Appointments are recommended. Call 239-936-4068 to schedule. Bring a photo ID and insurance card. No order needed, but you must be established with a physician to receive a screening mammogram.


    Chapel by the Sea, 100 Chapel St., Fort Myers Beach, is offering a pancake/waffle breakfast following their 8 and 10 am services on Easter Sunday, Apr 16. $10 donation requested.


    Classic car owners are cordially invites to participate in this casual ‘show-off” Cruise In at Santini Marina Plaza, 7205 Estero Blvd, FMB on SA Apr 22 from 9am-2pm. Classic, Antique and Corvette divisions will be judged by Celebrity judges. It’s a fun day to show off your beautiful vehicles. Judging will begin at 10am with classy plaque awards for 1st and 2nd place at 11:30am. DJ Larry will spin authentic oldies all day. Watch out for dancing in the street to break out at this event! Free parking and free admission. Hourly 50/50 raffles to benefit Find A Home, Give A Home Island Pet Rescue.     The 5th Annual ‘Mini’ Masters Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce comes to Jungle Golf on TH April 20 with the first tee time of 4 pm. Space is limited to only 18 teams with 5 players each so get your registration in early! Cost is $150 per team. More fun than a barrel of monkeys with Prizes, Raffles and yes, even mulligan’s. This event is open to the public and anyone can enter a team. Trophies will be awarded for winning team, lowest individual score and highest individual score.     The 2017 Lee County Delicious Dining Discounts Book from the Kiwanis Club of Fort Myers Gateway to the Islands is now available for just $25. The book offers BOGO (By One, Get One) dining discounts at 62 area restaurants, including 12 FMB locations. Most off-season discounts are valid Apr 15-Nov 15, so pick up yours soon. The project supports Kiwanis youth-related projects including the Gladiolus Learning and Development Center, Healthy Start, United Way reading Program and Human Trafficking Awareness Program.     The Town of Fort Myers Beach, along with the Lee County Metropolitan Planning Organization is developing the Town’s first Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan. This exciting project promotes a healthy, vibrant and safe community through cycling and walking. Residents are invited to help the Town plan for bikeways, walkways, trails and other related biking and walking projects. An interactive community workshop will be held on WE Apr 26 from 5-7pm at Town Hall, 2525 Estero Blvd, FMB. A presentation about the project including needs assessment and initial programs, project, design and policy recommendations will be included. Check the Town’s website for more information.


    Those who receive mail via a mailbox at the curb are asked to please not block their mailbox with trash or recyclable cans, yard debris or parked cars. Place trash cans at least 10 feet away from any mailbox. With season, delivery schedules are altered, so don’t assume the mail has been delivered and block the mailbox. Leave at least 10 feet on either side of the mailbox or you may not get your mail that day.


    The final concert in the Fort Myers Beach Friends of the Arts Winter Concert Series will be offered on TH Apr 20. The first ever Southwest Florida appearance of the Atlantic City Boys singing the crooning tunes of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons. Tickets are $25.
