    Bayside Estates Men’s Club hosts a monthly Pancake Breakfast every 2nd Sunday from November to March at the Bayside Recreation Hall. All are invited to attend. Their next breakfast will be held SU Nov 10 from 8-11am. Enjoy scrambled eggs, sausage, coffee, OJ and all you can eat pancakes for just $5. For another $1, get a made to order omelet. Veterans eat free this Sunday. At the breakfast, the Bayside Sewing Guild will be selling handmade items and quilt raffle tickets. Bayside Estates is located just off San Carlos Blvd, south of Pine Ridge Rd. Look for signs at the entrance. Proceeds support Hope Hospice.


    Join the Friends of the Arts for their annual “SWFL Sustains: A Regional Seafood Experience” dinner on WE Nov 13 from 6-8pm at DiamondHead Beach Resort.     Do you have your flu shot yet? Stop by the Beach Library on WE Nov 13 from 9am – noon. CVS reps will be in the library foyer to give flu shots at no charge to those with a Medicare or insurance card. Otherwise the cost is $25.

    Chapel by the Sea will host a Craft & Rummage Sale from 8am to 2pm FR Nov 15 and 9am -1pm SA Nov 16. Come shop for gently used treasures, crafts and unique items. If you have something to contribute to the sale, drop donations off MO – FR 9am -2pm (No clothing or large furniture.)


    The Knights of Columbus will host their third annual Veterans Day Car Show & Cookout on SA, Nov 16 from 10am – 2pm in the parking lot of Ascension Church, 6025 Estero Blvd, FMB. Bring your car to show or come to stroll the grounds and see some awesome cars. Show cars for a $10 fee. Admission is free to the public. Veterans and First Responders eat free with I.D.     On SA Nov 16 at 8am, enjoy beautiful Bunche Beach, an excellent birding site with a Bird Patrol Guide. Bunche is an excellent spot for both migrant and resident waders and shorebirds working the mudflats at low tide. Also warblers, waterfowl and raptors.     The Friends of the Fort Myers Beach Library will hold their first Book Sale of the season on SA, Nov 16 & SU Nov 17 from 9am – 2pm in the library’s parking garage at 2755 Estero Blvd. You’ll find gently used books, CD’s and DVD’s, puzzles and new items from the bookstore for sale. Plus the Estero Island Garden Club will be on hand selling potted herbs, water and baked goods. Hot coffee will be available from the Library Café. Book Sales are planned for Jan 18 & 19; Feb 15 & 16 and Mar 21 & 22. The library itself will be open normal hours: Saturday 9am -1pm. Closed Sunday.


    The Estero Island Historic Society will kick off its season of free public meetings featuring historical speakers on MO Nov 18 at 7pm at St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church, 5601 Williams Dr. Cookies and punch will be served. Author and FGCU professor Lyn Millner will discuss, “The Koreshan Unity: Facts, Myths & Fort Myers Beach Connections.” Attendance at public meetings is free and open to all. Donations are welcomed.

    Beach United Methodist Church is hosting a GriefShare Support Group. They meet on Mondays from 1-3pm in the Fellowship Hall. Anyone who has lost a loved one who would benefit from a loving compassionate group to help deal with their loss is welcome to attend. Join the group at any time.     The Florida Supervisors of Elections are offering scholarship opportunities to students in Florida. Three scholarships of $1,200 will be awarded. Applicant must be a full time student with enough credits to enroll as a junior in a senior college or university in Florida, majoring in Political Science, Public or Business Administration or Journalism/Mass Communication.     Join a free guided walk offered every FR from 9-10:30am at Bowditch Point Park. Discover the constantly changing features of this barrier island ecosystem. Learn how the plants and animals are adapted to life on this fragile spit of sand. Wear comfortable clothing, shoes that can get wet, bring water, bug spray, binoculars and camera.     The Beach Community Pool offers water exercise classes. Water Aerobics is offered every MO, WE & FR at 9am. It is an energizing form of aerobics that can be enjoyed by everyone. Whether you are looking to kickstart your fitness journey, increase joint mobility, lose weight or just have some fun, water aerobics is for you! Aqua Strength, offered MO & WE at 10am, is a high energy class that will strengthen your muscles, increase your endurance and improve mobility. Class is held in the deep end of the pool using water weights. Aqua Yoga, offered every FR at 10am, is a low impact class that offers a deep stretch, relaxed mind and a fresh start to the day.     Each Friday and Saturday, free Sunset Celebration concerts from 5-10pm fill Times Square offering an entertaining musical backdrop to a spectacular sunset. Show is pet and kid friendly. Stop by and enjoy the beach, restaurants, street performers, cold beverages and a beautiful sunset!
