The Friends of the Arts (FOA) Boat Barn Concert Series kicks off on FR, Jan 15 with Glen Leonard & Hitsville. Glen was a member of the Temptations from 1975-1983 and will take listeners on a musical journey back in time to simpler times, through the magic of Motown. On TH, Jan 21, Al Holland, another Motown veteran, returns for his third appearance with the concert series, this time with his Nashville band offering a variety of blues, pop and Motown. All FOA concerts are held from 7-9pm in a cabaret-like setting in one of Fish Tale Marina’s boat barns. Tickets are $25/concert and are available now at the Fish Tale office. Future concerts include Feb 11-Florida SouthWestern Brass Band; Mar 31- Jazz-Matics and Apr 7-Jo List & Friends.

Chapel by the Sea will present a special inspirational/musical program featuring Robert “Bob” Fraumann on WE, Jan 20 at 6:30pm. The program will include a 30-minute piano concert including an original blend of classical and Christian melodies, plus selections from his CD, “To God be the Glory” and hymn requests. A reception will follow the program, w/copies of his book, “God’s Blessed Angel” and CD available for purchase. Fraumann is a graduate of
Asbury University and Westminster Choir College and has served in music ministry for 60 years, utilizing his extensive musical talents in organ, piano, voice, and conducting. Bob has performed in Carnegie Hall with Leonard Bernstein & at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, DC.

SHRIMP QUEEN PAGEANT
The Fort Myers Beach Lions Club invites area young ladies who are friendly and outgoing between the ages of 16-20 to participate in the Shrimp Queen Pageant during the Lions Club Shrimp Festival. Awards and prizes include a college scholarship for the Queen and the opportunity to ride atop a fabulous Corvette in the Shrimp Festival parade. This is not a beauty contest and there is no talent competition. The crowning of the Queen takes place at 1pm on SA, Mar 12 on Festival Grounds. The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club is holding their annual Flea Market on SA, Jan 30, from 9am-1pm at their clubhouse at 175 Sterling Street to benefit local charities. Veronica Honey, author of “Carolyn, A Journey of Faith” will have a book signing at Annette’s Book Nook in Santini Plaza on Jan 26 and Feb 8 from 9:30am-1pm. The book is a story of the author’s daughter who died at the age of 16 from a brain tumor and her courageous journey.
