The Pierre Chastain Family Association will celebrate its annual reunion Sep 30 – Oct 1 in beautiful Hiawassee, Georgia. The national association of descendants of Dr. Pierre Chastain, a French Huguenot, meets yearly in different places around the country. All Chastain descendants are welcome regardless of whether their name is Chastain or not. Association records will be available for research.
Activities include “How to Connect to Your Chastain Cousins via Relative Finder”, a visit to Church on Gum Log and cemetery where Chastains are buried, a trip to Brasstown Bald (Georgia’s highest mountain), an update on the Chastain research by Emory Alzheimer’s Research Center, opportunities to research your family with assistance from genealogists, entertainment and speeches on Chastain family history, and a silent auction. There will also be a cookout Friday night and the traditional banquet Saturday night.
Cookout and banquet reservations must be made by September 17. To make your reservations, contact Publicity Chair, Carol Migdat by calling 817/371-1839 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
