 Leadership Transition

Fort Myers Beach President Bud Nocera has announced that he is planning to “hang up his spurs” and retire, but not just yet. Nocera plans to stay with the Chamber through the end of 2016, assisting in the transition to a new President. In a statement to Chamber membership, earlier this month, Nocera explained that he has met with Chamber Chair Dave Anderson and the full Board of Directors and assured them he would assist in recruiting and training the next chamber president. His requirements for the next President included that they be “of the island” – a known entity and respected by the community – someone with a “solid and successful business background with an understanding of the fragile and seasonal nature of the island’s economy.”

Nocera introduced his choice as future Chamber President, Jacki Liszak, owner of Sea Gypsy Inn and chair of the Fireworks Fund Committee. Liszak has been appointed Vice President by the Board of Directors and will be working with Nocera over the rest of the year as she learns the ropes of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce.
