Fort Myers Beach

Note: This list will be updated as we learn of additional FMB area postponements and cancellations. With most venues closed and events canceled, we recommend that before you plan to attend any event that you contact the organizer or host of the event.

Ascension Catholic Church: The Diocese of Venice has suspended all Masses in Parish Churches until after Easter. Church visitation is also suspended.

Beach Baptist: Sunday services and all activities canceled until further notice. Check for online services at or on Facebook. Site of Lee Schools Grab & Go food distribution site from 9-11am for children under age 18. Choice Market food pantry open Thursdays 10am – 3pm. Beach United Methodist Church: All events and worship are canceled until further notice. Check or their Facebook page for updates.

Chapel by the Sea: All worship services and programs canceled until further notice except for AA/ALANON. Tune into digital service via Facebook or website. Gods Table will hand out bagged lunches at kitchen door.  MemoryMakers Concert canceled (April 3). Watch signboard.

Edison & Ford Estates: Closed until further notice.

Farmers Markets: The Tuesday – Friday markets at Beach Baptist and Santini Plaza have been suspended.

Florida Governor’s Office: All bars & nightclubs closed. Restaurants closed to all but carryout & delivery. Gyms and fitness centers closed. All non-essential medical or dental procedures canceled – contact your doctor. Local officials can meet without requirement that a quorum be physically present. Mar 23: Anyone who arrives in Florida from NY, NJ or CT or any other area with substantial community spread is to self-isolate for 14 days.

Florida DOT: All driver licenses and ID cards that expire between March 16 and April 15 will be granted a 30-day extension.

Florida Public Colleges & Universities: Will remain closed through the remainder of the semester. Online classes are encouraged.

FMB Chamber: Office closed. All events through April are canceled. Taste of the Beach postponed.

FMB Cruiser Appreciation Day: April 18, Canceled.

Fort Myers Beach Art Association: Gallery is closed until further notice.

FMB Film Festival: Originally scheduled for April 21-26, the Film Fest has been postponed to a future date.

Fort Myers Beach Fire Dept.: All March and April Fire Board meetings canceled. See video at

FMB Community Foundation: The March 21 Fashion Show has been canceled. Support Islander hospitality workers – buy a #WeAreFMB t-shirt at

FMB Kiwanis Club: Meetings suspended through the end of April.

FMB Woman’s Club Clubhouse: Closed until May 15 with all activities canceled.

Fort Myers Beach Library: Closed until further notice. All presentations in March canceled. All due dates extended with late fees waived for items currently out. Book Drop at rear of building off Bay Rd is available to return materials. Staff is on duty to answer phone calls (239-765-8162) and email ( See website,  for more details.

Fort Myers Beach (Town): Town Hall closed. Town staff available at 239-765-0202. No activities or people allowed on the (sandy) beach (in the EC zone) All advisory committees canceled until further notice. All town-owned properties closed and activities cancelled. This includes Mound House, Newton Park, Bay Oaks Recreation Center & Beach Pool.

Friends of the Mound House Artful Intersection 3.0: planned for March 27 at the FMB Woman’s Club has been postponed.

LeeTran: All Beach Trolley and Free TRAM service is suspended. Other LeeTran bus fares suspended. Some routes suspended. Call for info 239-533-8726. Use rear entry on buses. ADA Passport services available as usual. Make reservation by calling 239-533-0300.

Lee County: All Lee County-owned beaches and the Fort Myers Beach Pier are closed. Beach parking lots, restrooms and county-owned  beach access points closed. Lee County Libraries, Rec Centers, pools & dog parks are closed. Playgrounds and pavilions at Lee County Parks closed. All in-person toll operations have been stopped. Toll collection will be via transponder or toll-by-plate. Solid Waste and Public Safety are operating as normal. Lee Clerk of Court, Tax Collector & Tax Appraiser service counters & lobbies are closed. See websites for more information.

Lee County Schools: All classes & activities are canceled until at least April 15. Parents should contact their school for additional information. Breakfast and lunch bags for children up to age 18 distributed at Beach Baptist from 9 – 11am at Estero Blvd & Connecticut.

Lovers Key State Park: Closed.

Ostego Bay Tea by the Sea: (Mar 28) Canceled

Shell Point Retirement Community: All March events canceled. See for April events.

St. Peter Lutheran Church: All Worship Services & church activities are cancelled until May 12.

St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church: Sunday Service cancelled. The church will be open and Pastor John in Comfort Hall 10 – 11:30am Sunday.

Times Square Sunset Celebrations: Canceled until further notice.

Florida Dept. of Health:

Lee County School Lunches: “Grab & Go” breakfast and lunch food bags will be available from 9 – 11am March 23 – 27 at select schools, including Heights Elementary. Lee Health: COVID testing site at Page Field, 4771 S. Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers is open 12-4pm daily. Must have physician order for test and appointment. COVID info page:


The FMB Community Foundation and Barefoot Event Group have combined efforts to support local hospitality workers dealing with forced closures and decreased hours.
