    The Estero Bay Buddies celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the Estero Bay Aquatic Preserve with Dinner and a Silent Auction at Hyatt Regency Coconut Point at 6pm. www.esterobaybuddies.org

    Christmas Boat Parade begins at 6pm from Salty Sam’s and floats north under the skybridge, into a couple canals at Siesta Isles before heading to near the Pink Shell marina where the parade route heads south before returning to Salty Sam’s.

    Friends of the Arts offers a free Christmas Concert at Santini Plaza from 4-6pm by the King Guys.

    Parrot Key Caribbean Grill hosts two car shows each month, on the 1st and 3rd MO. Next show December 5th from 5-9pm. Stop by to see some cool hot rods, classic cars and custom trucks.     The Fort Myers Harmonica Band invites all harmonica players and those who would like to learn how to play to their weekly meetings on Thursdays from 1-3pm at the Chapel of Salvation Army, 10291 McGregor Blvd. Learn X-mas songs for “kettle” play to help the Salvation Army or just play and practice for your own enjoyment.     A Nature Walk with a Bird Patrol Guide is offered on SA Dec 3 at 8am at Lakes Regional Park, 7330 Gladiolus Dr. Meet at Shelter A7 near the train station. This easy walk offers the opportunity to see birds in native vegetation with experienced guides pointing out the many species in Lakes Park. Free with paid parking.     On Monday, December 5th at 9:30am, the Estero Garden Club will decorate a Christmas tree with the theme of Silver Shells using newly handcrafted ornaments that carry out a beach motif.     Chapel By the Sea will host a Voices of Naples concert on TH Dec 8 under the direction of Dr. Douglas Renfroe at 7pm in the Chapel Sanctuary. This holiday feast of music is free and open to the public, free-will offerings accepted.

    Enjoy our area’s finest delicacy, Gulf Pink Shrimp, at the monthly Shrimp Dinner offered at Historic St. Raphael’s Episcopal Church, 5601 Williams Dr. on December 10th from 5-7pm. All you can eat GULF shrimp, homemade coleslaw, baked beans, cornbread, beer, wine, soda and dessert. $20 per person.

    The public is invited to mingle and celebrate the holiday season at a Holiday/25th Anniversary Open House hosted by the Estero Island Historic Society on Saturday, December 10th from 2-5pm. Purchase fresh baked goods, sip punch and view the festive decorations adorning the cottage. New exhibits and photographs will be on display. Everyone is welcome to partake in some historic-themed holiday cheer. Donations of baked goods are most welcome. Please drop off your treats for sale in The Annex of the Historic Cottage between noon and 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 10th.

    The Friends of Matanzas Pass will hold their monthly ‘Moon Walk in the Preserve’ on Tuesday, December 13th at 5:15pm. This experiential hands-on program will awaken and sharpen participant’s senses of smell, touch, hearing and night vision. Join two volunteers carrying candle-lit lanterns through the Preserve as night descends and celebrate the darkness and the moon. Meet at the entrance to the Preserve behind the Historical Cottage on Bay Street. Program is free, but pre-registration is required. Adults only. Limited to 12 participants.     The Fort Myers Beach Art Gallery is now open Monday-Saturday 10am-3pm. Their Fall Member Judged Show is now on exhibit through Dec. 8 in Studio 1. Studio 2 features works by FMBAA artists who traveled to Acadia this September. The Gallery is open to all with free admission. Classes offered for both beginners and experienced artists in a variety of mediums during the season.     -The Mound House is expecting their busiest season yet and is seeking more volunteers who can help at the museum one day a week, whether mornings (9am-12:30pm) or afternoons (12:30-4pm).
