“A beautiful day was enjoyed by exhibitors and visitors of the Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce Annual Business Expo held in the parking lot of Wal-Mart on San Carlos Blvd. Approximately 30 different Chamber member businesses exhibited. The Expo is an opportunity for the public to visit with and learn of the products and services available from local Chamber member businesses. John Gavin of Gavin’s Ace Hardware said “Attendance was good – steady traffic from the starting time at noon through mid afternoon.” Fran Podraza of CFS Roofing and Dr. Good Roof commented “I got two good leads today. If one turns into a project for us, it is certainly worth our attending.” For more information on Fort Myers Beach Chamber of Commerce membership opportunities and benefits, contact Jacki Liszak, President, at offices located at 1661 Estero Blvd, Fort Myers Beach or www.fortmyersbeach.org.
The Lani Kai has recently opened another dining option within the legendary resort complex. The Casablanca Cafe has opened within some of the space formerly occupied by the Casablanca Lounge on the Lobby Level. This vintage coffee shop design was the vision of Alan Mishaga, long time artist for the Lani Kai for decades. Black and white floor tile dominate the area including some seating and a large service counter. Mike Ensor, Marketing Director said, “We are licensed to have all Starbucks coffee products. Baristas from Starbucks Corporate trained a full Lani Kai team on premise on the process of making each and every drink. Products will change with the season, as well as promotions and available styles.” Beside coffee drinks, Ensor added, “We provide
breakfast and lunch to-go options that are quick and easy for the beach.” Starbucks reps commented, “This was one of the top locations they have opened out of thousands across the country in regards to layout and readiness.” Hours are 6:30am to 4pm daily.
