    On SA Jan 25 beginning at 8am, enjoy beautiful Bunche Beach, an excellent birding site with a Bird Patrol Guide. Bunche is a great spot for both migrant and resident waders and shorebirds working the mudflats at low tide. Also warblers, waterfowl and raptors.     Beach access 41, located just south of Pink Shell Resort will be closed temporarily from MO Jan 27 – TH Jan 30 for boardwalk maintenance. Access #40 just south of Bowditch Point Park will remain open. Both are foot traffic only.

    The Friends of the Beach Library will hold their annual meeting on MO Jan 27 at 5:30pm in the Library’s 3rd floor Community Room. Two local writers will speak at the meeting: Monica Lynn, author of “A Letter from Clarence O’Malley” and Mary Tatarian, author of “Love at First Flight.” All are welcome to attend.

    The Fort Myers Beach Woman’s Club is offering two Audrey Grant Bridge Basics classes. Each class consists of four lessons and is limited to 8 students. Each series of classes costs $25 + the cost of the text. “Bridge Basics – An Introduction,” will be offered on MO 1:30 – 4:30pm from Jan 27 – Feb 17. This class will cover basic bidding and game play. A second class, “Competitive Bidding” will be offered on TU 2:30 – 5:30pm from Jan 28 – Feb 18. Participants in this class must have significant experience or have completed the Introduction class. All participants must have the appropriate text.     The Nauti Parrot Dock Bar will host a Kitty Quarter Auction on TH Jan 30 at 6pm to benefit Find A Home Give A Home Cat Rescue on FMB and San Carlos Island. Bring quarters to play.     Nauti Parrot is partnering with Ocean Habitats to put artificial reefs under their docks to help clean the water. They will host State Days on FR beginning with Minnesota on Jan 31 with food and drink specials unique to each state. Proceeds will go towards the artificial reefs.     Friends of Lovers Key joins with the Americana Community Music Association to offer a Songwriters at Sunset concert on the first TH each month at the gazebo on the Lovers Key State Park beach. On Feb 6 Charlie McCoy is featured in the concert that begins at 4:15pm. One of the most in-demand session players in Nashville, his session credits are literally a who’s who of country music. Roy Schneider and Kim Mayfield will also perform. Prior to the concert, Food Truck vendors will be on site offering food and beverage options with apportion of sale supporting the future Welcome & Discovery Center. Free with park entry fees.     Friends of Lovers Key State Park will again host a Valentine’s Day Vow Renewal on FR Feb 14 on the beautiful beach at Lovers Key State Park. The non-denominational service will be offered at three times this year, 10am, 1pm and 4pm. Each service will offer married couples the chance to renew their vows, toast each other with champagne, enjoy a full meal, desserts, dancing, photo & more.     The Beach United Methodist Church offers a satellite Women’s Bible Study at The Palms of Bay Beach condo clubhouse on WE from 9:15 – 11am until Feb 26. Led by Susie Bloom, the study is open to all women who wish to spend time in Christian fellowship and study. The focus is on Paul’s letter to the Philippians.
