Bonnie Roberts of Fort Myers passed away peacefully on June 24, 2017 after a several year battle with cancer.
Bonnie was born October 22, 1946 to Dorothy (Wolfe) and Neil Roberts in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Oglethorpe University in Atlanta in 1968. Bonnie devoted nearly 30 years to dancing – performing, teaching and choreography, particularly clogging, before retiring from the dance world in 2001 and moving to Fort Myers Beach. Bonnie formed Bonnie Roberts Events and coordinated numerous vendor markets and special events in and around Fort Myers Beach, most of them for Santini Marina Plaza.
She is survived by her beloved son Robin (Crystalyn) Roberts and two much-adored grandchildren, Harper and Kai Roberts, all of Richardson, Texas.
Heartfelt gratitude is extended to a group of close friends who walked with Bonnie on the last weeks of her journey, generously sharing their humor and comfort: Joe Liotta, Deanne Lansey, Andrea Cooper and Melinda & Dave Penticoff, plus the many devoted friends who visited.
A Celebration of Life is planned for October 22, 2017. Details will be announced later.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes contributions in Bonnie’s memory to the Clinic for the Rehabilitation of Wildlife (CROW), PO Box 150, Sanibel, FL 33957, 239-472-3644, www.crowclinic.org.
