Island’s Pancake House

Island-Pancake-House---Biz-Buzz-Fort-Myers-BeachThe Island’s Pancake House of Fort Myers Beach has been a favorite of locals and visitors since the 1970’s. Robert Morrill took over in July 2019 and has recently refreshed the restaurant interior with a major cleaning, new flooring, new recipes and a forthcoming new menu! Morrill hails originally from the Midwest with plenty of restaurant experience, and is enjoying the challenge of preserving the classics of the historic Island’s Pancake House menu, while adding his own special touches – for instance his homemade sausage patties. Morrill faces the family balancing act of many today with a health care professional spouse and a young son. Undaunted by it all,  Morrill is excited about the opportunity and potential in being the Island’s go-to place for omelets, eggs, pancakes, biscuits & gravy, along with signature sandwiches, soups & salads.

The Island’s Pancake House is located in Sea Grape Plaza,  behind Wells Fargo Bank at 2801 Estero Blvd.  Open 6am to 2pm daily. Phone: 239-233-8188.

Salty Crab

Salty-Crab-Fort-Myers-Beach-Biz-BuzzThe Salty Crab Bar and Grill recently reopened after a major makeover that features a new raised canopy roof, providing better gulf breezes, cooler temps and a more expansive feel to the cheery space that sits on the sand facing the Gulf of Mexico. This popular local spot has seating for about 200 hungry & thirsty patrons. The latest move compliments the Salty Crab’s recent refresh of paint, décor, furniture and a new entry look. A “Welcome to Fort Myers Beach” mural on the exterior wall facing Crescent Beach Park is under discussion with the Town of Fort Myers Beach.

A popular breakfast spot, their lunch & dinner menu offers a broad selection of seafood, steaks, sandwiches & salads. More than a simple beach bar, seafood, cold drinks, live music and sunsets are their specialty. Live music afternoons and evenings Thursday to Saturday. Hours: 8am – 11pm Sunday – Thursday; 8am – 12am Friday and Saturday. Visit them at 1154 Estero Blvd, next to Crescent Beach Park. Phone: 239-233-8224
